Vermont's best kept secret is finally out, thanks to our friends at Green Mountain Soapstone. When I was living and working in Vermont, soapstone was
the material of choice for counter tops, sinks and flooring. For decades, New Englanders have enjoyed the beauty, durability and longevity of
soapstone.
Until recently, soapstone was distributed only in the New England area, due to limited quantities. Today, "Green Mountain Soapstone" possesses two
large soapstone quarries which now offer nationwide distribution of this fabulous product.
Soapstone is created by nature, quarried from the earth and then custom fabricated by California Stone Works into a timeless work of art. The mineral
components in soapstone include talc, which gives it a soft feeling to the touch. Soapstone has unique soft colors with light flowing veins. A coat of
mineral oil makes its color even more dramatic. Soapstone is inert. This means that acids and alkalis will not etch soapstone as they will other
stones. Practically indestructible, soapstone won't burn or stain, and requires very little maintenance.
California Stone Works is proud to be the only authorized fabricator & distributor of "Green Mountain Soapstone", in the Southern California area. For more
