Things To Do Before You Hire A Fabricator
  1. Verify the contractor you are considering to fabricate your project is licensed by the California State Contractors License Board. 1-(800) 222-2222 or www.cslb.ca.gov.
  2. In contacting the California State Contractors License Board you will then be able to verify that the contractor under consideration has a valid bond; liability insurance and a workers compensation insurance policy in effect.
  3. Schedule a visit to the production facilities to verify the work you are considering will be done in a professionally equipped shop and not in some ones garage or south of the border in Mexico. Remember the slabs that you have selected could be at risk if they are fabricated in Mexico.
  4. Request to see actual work in production to better understand the fabrication process. Phone references could be a salesperson for the company, so insist on a shop visit.
  5. Discuss with your fabricator all aspects of your project, this is an investment that will last for decades. "The sweetness of low prices are soon forgotten, however, the agony of poor quality will last forever".
